Children’s book Giveaway: Carla and Leo’s World of Dance

I wrote a couple of months ago that my preschooler lost interest in her dance classes, or any classes, for that reason, including gymnastics. She even refused to go to her own recital.
Not that I wanted to push her to start dance lessons again, but I was thinking of ways to show her the dance world from the outside, to make it easier for her to decide. First, I took her to see an end-of-year recital of her friend’s dance class. The recital was put together by a performing arts studio. One Disney-based-story performance/dance followed another. My child was mesmerized and sat through the whole show. Note to self, those end-of-year studio performances are amazing and affordable. I need to plan to attend a few shows next May.
Then I started looking for a book about dancing for kids. I needed a book which would be fun and educational, which would teach my kids about different dances, and which would have a story. Carla and Leo’s World of Dance surpassed my expectations. It teaches about different styles of dancing, history of dance, different countries, and even explains the origin of the dance names. We liked that the book is not just educational but it also tells a story of two children taking a worldwide tour of ballroom dance.
Carla and Leo’s World of Dance is primarily targeted to readers ages 8 to 12. The book is beautifully illustrated. I have a lot to learn myself from this amazing book.
I asked my preschooler what she thought about going to the dance studio to learn dancing. Can we go and take a look at the dance studio, she asked, if it is really beautiful, I will go.
