Organic baby food: 18 pouches (over 5 pounds) Giveaway

As a mom I always try to make sure that my babies are eating healthy, organic food without additives, preservatives, and fillers. I am also concerned about food packaging and never buy anything in cans because of the BPA danger.

Baby Gourmet is an Organic baby food line that meets a long list of my criteria.

Founder Jennifer Broe had similar concerns. She wanted to feed her babies food that was healthy and tasty, but was disappointed by grocery store options. She started making her own baby food based on home-tested and much-loved family recipes. In 2006, Baby Gourmet launched and Jen was soon doing an impressive business in the year-round Farmers’ Market.  Mothers wanted what she was selling.

Baby Gourmet is the best-tasting baby food.  The recipes have a sophisticated and delicate blend of flavors that make it easy to get babies to love food that is good for them – even greens.

Quality: All of the products started out in the founder’s kitchen — not in a lab or a factory.  And once it has been manufactured, every batch is tasted. If it is not absolutely perfect, a new batch is started from scratch.

Allergens: Baby Gourmet factories are tested after each run on a microscopic level for remaining allergens. Nut and egg free factory, dairy is only in the apple crisp flavor.

Baby Gourmet is healthy, organic, and nutritious food for babies (6-12mo) made by moms with a little ingenuity.  With all products starting in owners, Jen’s and Jill’s kitchens, each recipe and batch thereafter is taste-tested and poured out if it’s not absolutely loved. Creative recipes include:

  • 6mo – Simple Purees
    • Harvest Pear, Pumpkin, and Banana
    • Juicy Pear and Garden Greens
    • Orchard Apple, Carrot Prune
  • 7mo – Yummy Combos
    • Baby’s Sweet Potato Pie
    • Roasted Squash and Fruit Medley
    • Apple, Sweet Potato Berry Swirl
  • 8mo+ – Tasty Textures
    • Old Fashioned Apple Crisp
    • Vanilla Banana Berry Risotto
    • Tropical Banana Bliss

All products are organic, no salt, sugar, fillers, preservatives, no nuts.  No dairy, except in Old Fashioned Apple Crisp.  Packaged in in a specially designed pouch allows for less cooking time, locking in nutrient values and flavors.  Currently sold nationwide in the USA and Canada. Baby Gourmet pouches are also sold on Amazon.

I try to buy organic, but it’s difficult because my 15 month old son still eats only purees, and is very picky. And since he’s so big now, he eats a LOT! It gets expensive! I try to find things that have lots of vitamins and nutritional value, considering he predominately eats only fruit puree mixes (we’re working with Early Intervention). :)

Most of the baby food I make is just a pureed version of what we’re already eating! If I’m buying, I try to buy organic.

I loved making butternut squash best of all when I made baby food. I personally had never had it until I made it for Lily and now it is a favorite of ours.

I LOVE Baby Gourmet, and so does my baby. Recently we took a whole bunch of packets on our vacation in Punta Cana. Not only were they SUPER easy to pack, but my son devoured them. His eyes would light up after every spoonful, and we couldn’t give it to him fast enough. We keep packs at home for when we go out. When I’m making food, I try to include some spices that we would eat (cinnamon, curry), and so far, he loves it all! Fingers crossed his appetite continues :)
