Seventh Generation Natural Cleaning Products: Review and Giveaway
July 2, 2010 | Filled under current giveaways, Review and Giveaway |
It all started when I noticed residue on plastic Medela baby bottles from the dishwashing detergent I was using at the time. I switched to a different detergent, there was still residue. It was not visible on any other dishes, just the thin plastic baby bottles. It really bothered me. I certainly did not want my baby to consume any traces of the dishwashing detergent. Then I switched to Seventh Generation Dishwashing Detergent. There was no more residue.
Gradually, I started using Seventh Generation Cleaning Products for all the cleaning needs. Seventh Generation products are Free & Clear Natural Cleaning Products that are hypoallergenic and made of natural ingredients. The products are very effective and are easy to find at major retail stores.
Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers offer a great fit. They are super absorbent and the filling is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. I really like that there are no cartoon/show characters on the diapers. I don’t have to pay for that anymore! I can attest that my baby could not care less about the pictures on her diaper. And if she starts to care, that would mean she is too old to wear diapers. The only concern I have is that the filling gathers in lumps when the diaper is wet. At this point I know I need to change the diaper. Note: Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers are not included in this giveaway.
I like the powerful foamy spray of the Natural Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner. It has a mild herby scent of Lemongrass. It naturally kills over 99.99% of household germs.
The Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner is convenient for cleaning hard, nonporous surfaces. It has a pleasant Lemongrass & Thyme scent. It is great to use for disinfecting and removing odors. I find it especially effective on garbage cans and diaper pails.
I prefer to keep the spray bottles “locked” just in case my kids accidentally lay their hands on these. I only wish the “stop” and “spray” signs on the nozzles of Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner and Natural Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner were more visible since I rely on these locks a lot.
The Automatic Dishwasher Detergent Pacs are single use pacs which go right in the dishwasher. No need to unwrap or puncture the bag, you just put the entire pack in the dishwasher. I think it would be a good idea to mention on the front of the package that the pack does not need to be opened just in case someone skips the directions.
The Free & Clear Natural Dish Liquid works very well on even the dirtiest dishes. It rinses away easily as well.
Free & Clear Natural 2X Concentrated Laundry Detergent and Natural Fabric Softener are free of fragrances, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, and free of phosphates & optical brighteners.
The Free & Clear Natural 2X Concentrated Laundry Detergent is so effective; I started washing clothes in cold water.
If I use Natural Fabric Softener and accidentally leave clothes in the dryer overnight, they do not have a mildew smell, which always happen when I use other fabric softeners.
I wish there were also Seventh Generation one time use Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener packs, which I could take with me on vacation.
The Disinfecting Wipes became a staple in the diaper bag. If we go to a restaurant, I wipe booster seats and high chairs, and sometimes the table. It is quite reassuring that the wipes naturally kill 99.99% of germs.
The Free & Clear Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner cleans without streaks and uses no harsh chemicals. I am so happy to have found a glass cleaning product which does not produce harsh fumes. Now I can clean windows and mirrors with my kids around.
I use Natural All Purpose Cleaner for everything. I have one bottle in each bathroom and in the kitchen. This Cleaner is non-toxic, biodegradable, and hypo-allergenic.
It would be nice to have some kind of visual differentiation between the bottles of Free & Clear Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner and Natural All Purpose Cleaner. Maybe different color spray nozzles? Once I put these bottles in my cleaning bucket, I need to actually read the labels before using them. Or am I supposed to do that anyway?
100% Recycled Paper Towels are made of 100% recycled paper but still have good absorbency. I don’t feel guilty anymore about killing the trees just to clean up messes my kids create. Compared to the Towels I have been using, 100% Recycled Paper Towels feel somewhat rough, but I got used to it quickly.
